- 1
Choose your platform
Eternl runs as a browser extension (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge), a mobile app (iOS and Android) and a desktop app for Windows, macOS and Linux. Pick the platform you use most often — you can add more later and keep them in sync using the same seed phrase.
- 2
Download from the official source
Only ever download Eternl from the official site at eternl.io or from the official listing in the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, the Apple App Store or Google Play. Fake wallets are the single biggest source of stolen Cardano funds — verify the publisher name is 'Eternl' before installing.
- 3
Create a new wallet or restore
Open Eternl and pick 'Create new wallet' for a fresh Cardano wallet, or 'Restore' if you already have a 15- or 24-word seed phrase from another Cardano wallet (Yoroi, Daedalus, Lace, Nami and Typhon are compatible). Choose a strong spending password when prompted.
- 4
Write down your seed phrase
Eternl will show you a recovery seed of 15 or 24 words. Write it on paper (or a metal seed backup) and store it offline. Do not screenshot it, do not put it in a password manager and do not type it into any website. Anyone with these words controls your ADA.
- 5
Confirm the seed and set your name
Re-enter the seed words in order to confirm you saved them correctly, then give your wallet a name. You are now ready to receive ADA, native tokens and NFTs on Cardano.
- 6
Fund your wallet and explore
Copy your Cardano receive address (starts with 'addr1') and send a small amount of ADA first as a test. Once it arrives, you can stake, collect NFTs, connect to DApps or add a hardware wallet for extra security.
Security checklist
- Only download from eternl.io or an official app store listing.
- Never type your seed phrase into a website or share it in chat.
- Store your seed offline — paper or metal, never digital.
- Consider a Ledger or Trezor hardware wallet for large balances.
